Materials, Sizing, and Other Info For The Classic Camisole Knitting Pattern

To knit The Classic Camisole, you will need Sock/Fingering-Weight (Category 2) yarn and U.S. Size 3 (3.25 mm) knitting needles. The construction of this camisole is knitted seamlessly in the round bottom-up, and then subsequently knitted flat in rows. The pattern is written for sizes XS through 5XL, and it is designed to be a slightly relaxed/oversized camisole that is comfy to wear, allowing a few inches of positive ease in the bust. The camisole photographed is shown on a model with a 34" bust and 26" waist, and she is wearing the size Medium. The overall feel of the camisole is very lightweight, soft, and great for layering or wearing alone.

The v-neck cut of this camisole is universally flattering, with easily adjustable to make it lower-cut or higher-cut, depending on preference. The bottom of the camisole features a classic ribbing edge, and the overall camisole is knitted in classic stockinette stitches. To keep the edges of the bust from curling, selvedge stitches were incorporated, so that the camisole lays smooth and neat against the chest. The straps of the camisole were specifically designed to be dainty and thin, for an overall sophisticated and feminine appearance, but there are instructions provided within the pattern to make the straps thicker, if desired. Although this knitting pattern was written for women sizes, it can easily be adapted and worn by men, since the camisole is a boxy, relaxed-fitting shape!
